System Requirements

If you receive an error prompting you to enable Intel VT-x or AMD SVM when launching the Anti-cheat, you will need to activate CPU virtualization in your BIOS.

Modifying BIOS/UEFI settings carries risk. If you are unfamiliar with firmware configuration, seek assistance from a professional.

1) Check your CPU and motherboard

Press the Windows key, type msinfo32, and hit Enter. Note your Processor, BaseBoard Manufacturer and BaseBoard Product.

2) Enabling on popular motherboards

ASUS: Advanced → CPU Configuration → enable Intel (VMX) Virtualization Technology or SVM Mode.

Gigabyte: BIOS Features / Chipset (Intel) or M.I.T. → Advanced CPU Core Settings (AMD) → enable Virtualization / SVM Mode.

MSI: Advanced → CPU Features/Configuration → enable Intel Virtualization Tech or SVM Mode.

ASRock: Advanced → CPU Configuration → enable Intel Virtualization Technology or SVM Mode.

3) Troubleshooting

  • If you cannot see the virtualization option, ensure your BIOS is up-to-date.
  • If the error persists, check your motherboard manual or contact the manufacturer.

What is IOMMU?

IOMMU (Input-Output Memory Management Unit) is a hardware-level security feature that safeguards your system against malicious software and helps maintain the integrity of competitive matches.

1) Identify your CPU and motherboard

Press the Windows key, type msinfo32, and press Enter to find your Processor and BaseBoard details.

2) Activating IOMMU

AMD CPUs: AMD CBS → NBIO Common Options → set IOMMU to Enabled.

Intel CPUs: Chipset / System Agent Configuration → enable VT-d and IOMMU during boot.

Exact menu names vary by motherboard vendor (ASRock, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte) — look under Advanced settings.

3) Troubleshooting

  • If the IOMMU option is missing, confirm your BIOS is up to date and CPU virtualization is enabled.
  • Consult your motherboard manufacturer's support resources for model-specific instructions.

Memory Integrity (also called HVCI) uses virtualization-based security (VBS) to protect the Windows kernel from tampering.

Important: Enabling Memory Integrity may require driver updates, virtualization support, and a compatible CPU (SLAT). Unsupported drivers will prevent activation.

1) Confirm support

Open Task Manager → Performance tab → check that Virtualization shows Enabled. If disabled, enable VT-x/SVM in BIOS first.

2) Enable in Windows

  1. Open Windows Security → Device Security.
  2. Click Core Isolation Details.
  3. Turn on Memory Integrity.
  4. Restart your PC.

3) If the toggle is greyed out or blocked

Windows will list incompatible drivers. Update them via Windows Update, download the latest driver from the vendor, or uninstall the outdated software (RGB apps, legacy motherboard utilities, old VPN drivers, etc).

4) Verify it's active

Open msinfo32 after reboot and confirm "Virtualization-based security: Running" and "Memory Integrity: On".

Secure Boot is a UEFI firmware feature designed to prevent unverified or unsigned boot-level software, such as rootkits and cheat loaders, from running before Windows starts. Akros requires Secure Boot for all Windows 10 and 11 users.

Modifying BIOS/UEFI settings can result in boot issues if done incorrectly. Always back up your system drive before making changes.

1) Verify current settings

Press the Windows key, type msinfo32, and press Enter. Confirm BIOS Mode reads UEFI and Secure Boot State reads On.

2) If your disk is MBR

Secure Boot requires a GPT disk. Use Microsoft's MBR2GPT.EXE tool from an elevated Command Prompt:

mbr2gpt /validate /disk:0
mbr2gpt /convert /disk:0

3) Configure BIOS/UEFI

  • Set Boot Mode to UEFI; disable Legacy/CSM.
  • Under Security/Boot/Authentication, set Secure Boot Mode to Standard and enable Secure Boot.
  • Save and reboot, then re-check msinfo32.

Vendor notes

ASUS: Boot → Secure Boot, set OS Type to Windows UEFI Mode. Gigabyte: disable CSM first to reveal the Secure Boot menu. MSI: disable CSM/Legacy, select Install Factory Default Keys if prompted. Dell/HP/Lenovo: usually under Security or Boot; some require Restore Factory Keys first.

To improve system security and maintain fair play, Akros requires all Windows 10 and 11 users to have TPM 2.0 activated.

Modifying BIOS/UEFI settings or converting your system disk can be risky. Always back up important data before proceeding.

1) Check current TPM status

Press the Windows key, type tpm.msc, and hit Enter. Status should read "The TPM is ready for use" with Specification Version 2.0.

2) Check UEFI mode

Open msinfo32 and check BIOS Mode. If it shows Legacy, you must switch to UEFI (and convert your disk from MBR to GPT with MBR2GPT.EXE if needed) before TPM 2.0 can be enabled on some systems.

3) Activate in BIOS/UEFI

  1. Enter BIOS/UEFI setup (Del, F2, F10, F12, or Esc during boot).
  2. Locate the TPM setting (may be labeled fTPM, PTT, or Security Device) and set it to Enabled.
  3. Save changes and reboot.
  4. Re-check via tpm.msc.

Vendor notes

ASUS: Advanced → PCH-FW Configuration → fTPM. Gigabyte: Advanced → Trusted Computing → Security Device Support. MSI: Security → Trusted Computing → TPM Device Selection. Dell/HP/Lenovo: Security → TPM Device → Enable (some require Activate or Clear first).
